RIL, Gail considering JV in petrochemical plants in Russia.
Reliance Industries (RIL) are considering the feasibility of putting up petrochemical plants in Russia together with state-owned Gail India.

US$ 5 Billion Petrochemical Plant by Chevron Philips and Saudi Industrial.
Chevron Philips with collaborating partner Saudi Industrial Group is planning to borrow US$ 1.8 Billion to finance a US$ 5 Billion petrochemical plant at Al-Jubail tentatively to produce ethylene, propylene and polyethylene.


US$ 1.5 Billion Petrochemical Plant for Braskem.
Braskem, a Brazilian petrochemicals company is evaluating an investment of US$1.5 billion petrochemical plants in Bolivia. The project is anticipated to produce polyethylene with Brazillian state-run energy company Petrobas showing interest for partnership.

Petrochemical Revolution - the new hype for Venezuelans.
Ambitious Hugo Chavez has recently announced on Venezuela's national TVs for $20 billion investment capital cost for the new wave of petrochemical revolution. This includes increasing the country's capacity in the oil products and derivatives especially ethylene and polyethylene derivatives. He was quoted to turn Venezuela into a world power in petrochemicals.

Foreign Companies Showing Interest to Develop Peru Petrochemicals
In the recent promotion from the Peru government to develop their petrochemical industry, a consortium of foreign companies likely to invest over US$ 1 billion on a petrochemical plant near Pisco. Australia's Orica Ltd, U.S. firms Terra Industries Inc and Omimex Resources, and Colombia's Abocol are some of the interested parties to join the investment. In the recent years, some major petrochemical players have embarked on investing in Peru including South Korea's SK for a $2 billion in petrochemicals, Brazil's Petrobras, France's Suez Energy, Grupo Gloria as well as state oil company PetroPeru. Officials from India's Oswal Group have also said they were interested in Peru's petrochemicals sector.
